You can appeal a permanent TikTok block if that option is available with your decision. Try logging in and open the block notification. Follow the appeal instructions. Briefly explain why you believe the block is incorrect and add evidence supporting your explanation. TikTok does not have to return your account after an appeal.
Below, you’ll read what to save, how to write your appeal and what you can do if submitting it does not work or TikTok rejects your appeal.
Check what TikTok has blocked
Is the notification about your entire account, one video or a particular feature? Read it carefully first so you respond to the right decision.
Take a screenshot of the full notification. Also save the following details, if you can find them:
- Your username, including the @ symbol.
- The date of the block.
- The reason or rule TikTok mentions.
- The video or activity the notification concerns.
- Any decision number.
- The deadline for appealing, if it is listed.
Is there no clear reason? Make a note of that. Do not guess which video caused the block.
Can you use your account normally, but are your videos getting fewer views? That alone does not prove that your account is permanently blocked. Read about a possible TikTok shadowban.
How to appeal your TikTok block
According to TikTok’s explanation of blocks you can still log in to a blocked account to appeal and download personal data, as long as the account remains available.
- Open the block notification. Check that it concerns the right account.
- Choose the appeal option if you see it. Follow the instructions for your decision.
- Write why you are appealing. Mention the decision, what you believe is incorrect and what evidence you have for it.
- Check your text and attachments. Are your username and the date correct? Did you attach the right files?
- Save your appeal. Also take a screenshot if you receive a confirmation.
Is it a creator restriction?
For creator restrictions, TikTok’s Creator Code of Conduct mentions this route: Inbox, System notifications, Account updates and then Appeal. This is not automatically the route for every permanent account block.
What should you do if the appeal option is missing?
Take a screenshot of what you can see, such as an error message when logging in. Check whether the block notification mentions another official way to get in touch.
Otherwise, continue through the official help page about blocks above. Do not use a random phone number or email address from a reply on social media.
Note when you tried to appeal and what went wrong. This will help you clearly explain later why you could not submit it.
What evidence helps with your TikTok appeal?
Use evidence that matches the reason in the notification. Many attachments do not help if it is unclear what they show. For each file, briefly state why it is important to your appeal.

These are examples, not a fixed list of evidence TikTok accepts. Follow the instructions for your appeal regarding the documents you must send. Do not send identification through private messages to anyone offering to recover your account.

This is a fictional fill in example. Adapt it to your own situation and remove anything that is not correct.
My account @username was permanently blocked on [date]. The notification says [reason]. I believe this decision is incorrect because [specific explanation]. I have attached [evidence]. This shows that [important detail]. Could you please reassess the block?
Is there no reason in the notification? Replace the section about the reason and your evidence with: “I do not see a specific reason in the notification. Could you please indicate which activity and rule the block is based on?”
Avoid these mistakes in your TikTok appeal
- Sending the same appeal repeatedly. It is better to keep one record of your appeal, the date and the responses you receive.
- Making up an explanation. Only write that someone took over your account if you have concrete indications of this.
- Only saying that you miss your account. Focus mainly on explaining why you believe the block is incorrect.
- Paying someone who promises recovery. Also do not share a password, login code or recovery code with such a person.
- Using a new account to get around the block. Focus on appealing the existing decision.
- Deleting evidence before you have saved it. Keep notifications, original files and your appeal together.
What can you do if TikTok rejects your appeal?
Save the rejection and read the reason TikTok gives. Compare it with your appeal. Did your explanation concern the right rule? Was it clear what your evidence showed?
Then check whether the response mentions a next step. Are you allowed to respond again? If so, add something helpful, such as a missing file or an explanation of a detail that was misunderstood. Sending the same question again adds little.
Is there a deadline for your response in the decision? Note it immediately. Do not assume a fixed response time from TikTok or recovery after a certain number of days.
TikTok appeals in the Netherlands and Belgium: further help
Do you live in the Netherlands or Belgium and has your appeal been rejected? Check whether the decision mentions further options for filing a complaint. Sometimes the explanation concerns a review outside TikTok. In that case, another organization examines the disagreement about your block.
First check whether that organization handles permanent account blocks. Also review the terms, any fees and deadlines. Find out what TikTok must do with the outcome. A review outside TikTok does not automatically mean you will get your account back.

Check your TikTok account after recovery
Can you access your account again? Save the recovery message and read the accompanying explanation. Check your profile details and see whether you missed any other notifications.
Do you suspect someone else had access? Choose a new password that you do not use anywhere else and check your security settings. This secures your account. It does not undo a violation in a message or video.
