- If necessary, check a second video of your own. Check whether the option is missing there too.
- Is the option nowhere to be found? Choose an alternative. Repeating the same action will not make the feature available.
Can you reply or delete a comment? Then those actions are working. That does not mean you should also be able to pin comments.

Reopening or updating the app may help with a general outage. It does not automatically restore a missing feature. Clearing temporary app files, often called ‘clearing the cache’, or reinstalling the app does not guarantee that you will be able to pin comments.

What can you do instead of pinning a TikTok comment?
Where it is best to put the information depends on what you want to say:
- A detail about a new video: put it in the description or in the video itself. Think of the amount of an ingredient or the location of a walk.
- An answer to one question: reply directly to that comment. This keeps the question and answer together. Your reply will not be pinned at the top this way.
- An explanation for multiple viewers: make a short follow up video. Give the answer straight away so someone can understand the explanation without the earlier video.
- Information about your entire profile: put it in your bio, the short text on your profile. This is less suitable for a detail that only concerns one video.
A fictional example: you post a video of homemade pancakes but forget to mention the amount of milk. Answer a question about it directly. In your next recipe video, put the quantities in the video itself. That way, viewers do not have to search through the comments.
