With 0 views on TikTok, first check whether your video has been posted and who can view it. Then see whether there is a notice. A newly posted video requires a different approach from a video that nobody can open. The number 0 alone does not tell you what is wrong or whether TikTok is holding back your account.

What can you check when you have 0 views on TikTok?
First find out whether anyone can open your video. Adjusting hashtags or your description will not help you check this. Use this table to decide where to start.

Can you not post the video at all? Then read why TikTok does not post your video . That is a different problem from a posted video with no views.
Check who can view your TikTok
You can decide who may see each post. This is explained in TikTok’s explanation of post visibility. So check both your account privacy and the settings for this video.
- View your account privacy settings. Is your account private? Keep this in mind when asking someone to check.
- Check who is allowed to see the post. Does the selected setting match the people you want to share the video with?
- Ask someone who is allowed to see the video to open it. Have that person try through your profile or a shared link.
Suppose you share a video only with friends but ask someone outside that group to watch it. That does not test whether your friends can see the video. For this check, ask someone from the correct group.
Cannot find the setting? Use the official explanation above. You do not need to make your account public for this test. Keep the visibility setting you want.
TikTok with 0 views: wait or check?
Have you just posted the video? Do not delete it straight away. Note the time and first check whether it plays. This lets you check later whether the counter has changed.
- Check again later if the video has just been posted, plays and shows no error message.
- Check visibility now if someone who is allowed to see the video cannot open it.
- Read the notice if TikTok says that the video is being reviewed or restricted. Follow the explanation shown there.
- Investigate further if the same problem occurs with several posts.
Without a notice, you cannot conclude from 0 views that TikTok is reviewing your video. There is also no fixed limit, such as 48 hours, after which you can be certain what is wrong. A notice or a video that will not play gives you more information than the time that has passed alone.
What should you do if your TikTok stays at 0 views?
Open TikTok again and view the same video. Also ask the person helping you whether they can actually play the video. Merely seeing the small preview on your profile is not enough.
Does the video play for that person, while you still see 0 views? Write that down. You then know that the person can view the video. This still does not tell you why the counter shows 0.
Does the problem keep happening? Then gather this information for a report to TikTok:
- The link to the video and the time when you posted it.
- Who is allowed to see the post according to the selected setting.
- The exact text of any notice.
- Whether someone else can open and play the video.
- Whether it concerns one video or several posts.
Use this information with TikTok’s help or reporting option. Do not share a password or login code.
Can someone view your video but it receives few views? TikTok explains in the explanation of the For You feed that recommendations match people’s interests and what they do, such as responding to videos. So a public video does not automatically appear to many people.

How to test your next TikTok video
Check your next regular video to see whether the same thing happens. Do not keep reposting the same video during the test. That makes it difficult to keep track of which post you checked.
- Choose in advance who may view the video.
- After posting, note the time and any notices.
- Check whether the video appears on your profile and plays.
- If necessary, have someone who is allowed to see the video try the same thing.
- Check the counter again later and write down what has changed.
Do not change the visibility, description and video itself at the same time. With one change at a time, you can better track what happens. A successful test still does not explain why your previous video stayed at 0 views.
