Do not look only at a notice or the screen where you edited the video. Therefore, first check whether someone who is allowed to see it can open the video.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"account-concepten\">Check your TikTok video in drafts and on other accounts<\/h2>\n<p>Do you use multiple accounts? Check the username on your profile. Then go to the account you intended to use to post the video.<\/p>\n<p>Also check your drafts. These are videos you can still edit. A draft by itself does not show whether you also posted the video. Did you complete that final step, or did you close the app while the upload was still in progress?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The video is on another account:<\/strong> you were not viewing the profile where you posted it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You find only a draft:<\/strong> first check whether a posted version also exists.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You see an error message while uploading:<\/strong> note the text before continuing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Can you not complete the posting process? That is a different situation from a posted video that later becomes invisible.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"zichtbaarheid\">Your TikTok video is visible only to you<\/h2>\n<p>For each post, you can choose who may see it and change that choice later. This is explained in <a href=\"https:\/\/support.tiktok.com\/en\/account-and-privacy\/account-privacy-settings\/video-visibility?lang=nl\">TikTok\u2019s explanation of post visibility<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Open the video and find the setting for who may see it. Does it show the group of people you intended? The name and location of this option may differ between app versions. If you cannot find the option, follow the explanation via the link above.<\/p>\n<p>Then ask exactly what the other person sees:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The video is missing from your profile:<\/strong> ask that person to check your exact username. Also check whether they belong to the group allowed to see your video.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The video is on your profile, but does not appear in the feed:<\/strong> then it is not missing from your profile. Ask whether they opened your profile or simply did not see the video appear. This tells you which check is useful.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"beoordeling\">Read the notice about your missing TikTok video<\/h2>\n<p>A review can lead to removal or exclusion from the For You feed. TikTok explains this on the page about <a href=\"https:\/\/support.tiktok.com\/en\/safety-hc\/account-and-user-safety\/content-violations-and-bans?invalid_lang=de\">content review and restrictions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Read the notice attached to your video. A notice saying that TikTok does not recommend your video means something different from a notice saying it was removed. Also check whether you can open the video from your profile.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The video is under review:<\/strong> note the status and check again later. Do not assume a fixed waiting time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The video was removed:<\/strong> read the reason and follow the options TikTok offers in the notice.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your account has a restriction:<\/strong> check which action is restricted according to the notice. Do not assume that this also applies to other features.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You see no notice:<\/strong> then you still do not know whether a review or restriction is the cause.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A missing video also does not prove a shadowban. That word is used for an alleged hidden restriction. You cannot draw that conclusion from a video not appearing alone.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"app-verbinding\">Test the app and connection if your TikTok video is missing<\/h2>\n<p>Have you not found an explanation yet? Check whether the app loads your profile properly. Try one step at a time and keep checking whether the video appears.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Refresh your profile.<\/strong> Check whether the video appears in the overview afterwards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Close TikTok and reopen the app.<\/strong> Do not do this if you can see that an upload is still in progress.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Try a different connection.<\/strong> For example, switch from wifi to mobile data if your data plan allows it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>View your profile in a different way.<\/strong> For example, try a browser if you have access to one. Keep in mind who is allowed to see the video.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check whether there is an update.<\/strong> Open the app store on your phone and check whether you can update TikTok.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can also look for an option to clear the cache. The cache consists of temporary app files. Do this only when it clearly says that you are clearing the cache, not all app data. This test does not always solve the problem.<\/p>\n<p>Do not delete the app as a first step. First save your original video and any other material you do not want to lose. Also do not immediately post multiple copies. First check whether the original video appears after all.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"probleem-melden\">Report your missing TikTok video if you cannot get further<\/h2>\n<p>Does the video remain missing after these checks, and do you not know why? Search TikTok for help or an option to report a problem. The exact name may differ.<\/p>\n<p>Include this information in your report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your username.<\/li>\n<li>The date and time when you approximately posted the video.<\/li>\n<li>Whether you can still open the video yourself.<\/li>\n<li>Whether others can see the video on your profile.<\/li>\n<li>The exact text of an error message or notice about a review.<\/li>\n<li>Which checks you have already completed.<\/li>\n<li>A screenshot of the problem, without unnecessary private information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An example report: \u201cI posted a video today at around 18.30:. I cannot see it on my own profile. I checked my username and drafts and reopened the app. There is no error message. Could you check what happened to this video?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Keep your video and the notice until you have clarity.
