Can you simply not log in? Then your account may not be suspended. There may also be a problem with your password, or Instagram may want to verify your information.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, check exactly what your notice says. You may have been hacked.<\/td>\n<td>Which posts or changes are not yours.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Does it say \u2018disabled\u2019? That word alone does not mean that you can never get your account back. Read the full notice.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"redenen\">Why can Instagram suspend your account?<\/h2>\n<p>You can assess the cause only after reading the notice. Check whether Instagram says anything about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A photo, video or comment.<\/strong> Save the mentioned post. Also save the caption and other information that helps explain the post.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was done to your account.<\/strong> Is the notice about spam or unwanted activity? Note what you were doing around that time and which apps were linked to your account.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your account information.<\/strong> Is it about your age, your identity or impersonating someone else? Check which information Instagram says is incorrect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These topics help you search, but they do not yet tell you what happened with your account. Does it only say that you \u2018broke the rules\u2019? Then write in your appeal that a clear reason is missing. Do not guess which violation Instagram means.<\/p>\n<p>An Instagram decision can also be incorrect. Explain what you believe is wrong and what evidence you have for it.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"melding\">Check the notice about your Instagram suspension<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Open Instagram itself.<\/strong> Do not click a link in an unexpected message about your suspension without checking it first.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save the full notice.<\/strong> Take a screenshot. Make sure the reason, date and any response deadline are visible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Read what you need to do.<\/strong> Is Instagram asking you to confirm your information, or can you appeal? These are different steps.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check your account status if you still have access.<\/strong> Look in the settings for information about your account status. Save what it says there about the restriction.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Cannot you view your account status? Then use the notice you see when logging in.<\/p>\n<p>Do you not see any option to respond? Consult the official Help Centre from within Instagram. Search for the exact words from your notice so that you do not follow steps for a different problem.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"hack\">What should you do if your Instagram account is suspended and possibly hacked?<\/h2>\n<p>A hack and a suspension are not the same, but they can occur together. Do you see posts you did not publish or contact details you did not change? Save those clues. They do not yet show why Instagram suspended your account.<\/p>\n<p>First secure the email account linked to Instagram. Choose a unique password and, where possible, turn on login with an additional code.<\/p>\n<p>Can you still access Instagram? Then also check where your account is logged in and which apps are linked to it. Watch for logins and apps you do not recognize.<\/p>\n<p>If you have lost access, use the official steps to recover your account. Explain separately in your appeal which activity was not yours. For example, mention when you last had access yourself and which change you discovered afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Entering a code or confirming your identity does not automatically mean that Instagram will lift the suspension.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"bewijs\">What evidence should you save for your Instagram appeal?<\/h2>\n<p>Gather your evidence in one folder. Keep the original files and do not change anything in the text on screenshots.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your username and, if you have one, the link to your profile.<\/li>\n<li>The full suspension notice, including the date and any response deadline.<\/li>\n<li>The mentioned post, including the caption and information that helps explain it.<\/li>\n<li>Messages about unfamiliar logins or changed information.<\/li>\n<li>A brief summary of what you saw yourself, in chronological order.<\/li>\n<li>The appeal you submitted, the confirmation of receipt and any case number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Write down what you know and identify separately what you suspect. For example: \u2018On Tuesday I saw an unfamiliar video on my profile\u2019 is clearer than \u2018My account was definitely hacked\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Keep personal documents separate. Share identification only if the official procedure asks for it. Do not post it in public comments. Also do not send it to anyone who offers through a private message to recover your account.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"bezwaar\">How do you appeal your Instagram suspension?<\/h2>\n<p>Use the appeal option shown with your notice. Follow the instructions and respond on time if Instagram gives a deadline. The options available to you are described in your own notice.<\/p>\n<p>Include these three components in your appeal:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>What you are appealing.<\/strong> Mention your username, the date of the suspension and the reason Instagram gives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Why you disagree.<\/strong> Briefly describe what you believe is incorrect.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What evidence you have.<\/strong> Refer to files or information that support your explanation. Include them if possible.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This is a fictional example of a brief explanation:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>My account was suspended on May 8. The notice refers to a video I did not post. On May 7, I received a message saying that my contact details had been changed. I did not make that change. I am requesting a new review and am attaching the notice about the change.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Use this example only for the structure. Describe your own situation and do not mention a hack or another cause for which you have no evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Save the confirmation after submitting the appeal. Is Instagram asking for more information? Respond through the official environment. There is no fixed recovery time or guaranteed outcome that applies to every account.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"eu\">Help with an Instagram suspension in the Netherlands and Belgium<\/h2>\n<p>Do you live in the Netherlands or Belgium and want the decision reviewed outside Instagram? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.appealscentre.eu\/\">Appeals Centre Europe<\/a> refers to Instagram disputes for users in the EU. The outcome is not binding: Instagram ultimately decides whether your account is restored.<\/p>\n<p>Check there whether you can have your decision reviewed and which conditions apply. Not every case is automatically accepted. Keep your suspension notice, previous appeal and Instagram\u2019s response at hand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2021\/04\/users-can-now-appeal-content-left-up-on-facebook-or-instagram-to-the-oversight-board\/\">Meta\u2019s 2021 explanation of the Oversight Board<\/a> concerns certain decisions about posts. That explanation does not provide a current general route for recovering every suspended account.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"vermijden\">What does not help with a suspended Instagram account?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Paying someone who promises recovery.<\/strong> Do not give strangers your password, login code or recovery code.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Submitting the same appeal repeatedly.<\/strong> Keep your messages and replies together. Add new information when requested.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hiding your location or connection to bypass the suspension.<\/strong> That does not explain why the decision would be incorrect.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Buying followers, likes or views to restore your account.<\/strong> Purchased numbers do not resolve a suspension. They are also not the same as genuine attention, customers or people who naturally reach your posts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do you want to start over? A new profile will not bring back your old account. That is a different step: deleting your account is not an appeal against a suspension.<\/p>\n<p>If you regain access, check the stated reason before continuing. Secure your account if you saw unfamiliar activity. If the decision concerned a post, check that post and Instagram\u2019s explanation.
