In an Instagram bio, you can share something about yourself, your hobby or your photos, for example.<\/p>\n<p>A fictional example: \u2018Outdoors often, usually on my bike. I share my favourite routes here.\u2019 This tells a visitor what you share on your profile.<\/p>\n<p>The bio belongs to your entire profile. It is not the text below an individual photo or video. That text is called the caption.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"bio-bekijken\">How do you view someone else\u2019s Instagram bio?<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open a post from that person and tap the username. You can also search for the username and then open the profile.<\/li>\n<li>Look at the top of the profile, below the name.<\/li>\n<li>Read the short description. Is there no text? That person may have left the bio blank.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You do not need to open a story for this. On a post, tap the username instead of the profile photo to go to the profile.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"link-in-bio\">Where is the link in the Instagram bio?<\/h2>\n<p>\u2018Link in bio\u2019 means a clickable link next to the profile description. You can also read this in <a href=\"https:\/\/linksmi.com\/nl\/blog\/wat-is-link-in-bio\">Linksmi\u2019s explanation of links in bio<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For example, does it say \u2018recipe via the link in bio\u2019 below a cooking video? Open the creator\u2019s profile. Look just below the profile text for a clickable link or a mention of links. So you do not look for the recipe in the video caption.<\/p>\n<p>The link may go directly to the recipe. Sometimes you first arrive at a page where you choose from different topics. Look there for the name of the dish from the video.<\/p>\n<p>Can\u2019t see a link? Check that you opened the original creator\u2019s profile. With an older video, the reference may also no longer match what is currently on the profile.<\/p>\n<p>Is the link there but does not open? Your current bio is at the top, next to your name. Want to change the text? Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On your profile, look for the option to edit your profile.<\/li>\n<li>Find the field for your bio and edit the text.<\/li>\n<li>Save the change.<\/li>\n<li>Open your profile again to see what the text looks like to a visitor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The names and location of these options may vary between Instagram versions.<\/p>\n<p>Does your bio explain what you want to share? You can briefly mention who you are and what you post. A fictional example is: \u2018I\u2019m learning to bake and share my cakes and biscuits here.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Want to add a clickable website? When editing your profile, look for a separate section for links. Simply typing a web address in your bio is not the same.
