Edits stored only in Instagram may be lost if you close or delete the app.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Check whether your story was posted after all.<\/strong> Open your own story before pressing post again. Check whether you can play it all the way through outside Instagram. Save the original and try posting a shorter copy. This lets you compare two files. Setting names and locations may differ between devices and versions. Updates can add new features and help an app work more reliably.<\/p>\n<p>Restart your phone if the upload is still stuck. Do not reinstall Instagram straight away. First save your files and check that you have your password and any additional login code.<\/p>\n<p>Do not install an old version through a separate APK. That is an installation file from outside the usual app store. Try sharing another public post to your story. If needed, ask the creator whether the post can be shared. A missing sharing option does not immediately mean that your account is restricted. Is it still missing? Ask the creator for the original file and permission to post it yourself.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"accountstatus\">You can\u2019t post an Instagram story because of an account notification<\/h2>\n<p>Does Instagram say that your account activity does not meet its requirements? First read the entire notification. Check whether it concerns one story, a particular feature or your whole account.<\/p>\n<p>Look in Instagram\u2019s settings for account status or information about restrictions. The location may differ. Is there a reason, a timeframe or an option to request a review? Follow the instructions shown there.<\/p>\n<p>Do not keep reposting the same story if Instagram reports an account restriction. A different connection will not remove that restriction. Search Instagram for the help function to report a technical problem. Is an account restriction shown? Use the option to request a review if it appears with the notification.<\/p>\n<p>Include the following in your report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whether you are uploading your own story or sharing someone else\u2019s content.<\/li>\n<li>The exact error message and approximately when you saw it.<\/li>\n<li>Your device and the version of Instagram, if you can find them.<\/li>\n<li>Which steps you tried and what happened at each step.<\/li>\n<li>A screenshot without private messages or other sensitive information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A fictional example: \u2018My own photo keeps uploading. This happens on WiFi and mobile data. A photo without music does not work either. I use an iPhone and have updated the app and restarted my phone.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>A description like this makes it clearer what is going wrong than simply saying \u2018my Story does not work\u2019. Keep your file and try again later.
