Few views do not prove that your video is hidden. First ask one follower to open the video through your profile. Then check who is allowed to view it and whether TikTok displays a notification.

TikTok video not visible? Check privacy and upload
First check whether your video has been posted and who is allowed to view it.
- Open the video from your profile. Can you play it? Check whether there is a notification about uploading, processing or review. Note the exact wording.
- View the video’s privacy setting. Look under the post to see who is allowed to view the video. Is it set to Only you? Then your followers cannot see it. Choose who you want to show the video to.
- Check your account privacy. Do you have a private account? Then check whether the person testing it is an approved follower. You do not need to make your account public for this.
- Read notifications about your video and account. Check whether TikTok mentions a reason or restriction. Do not draw a conclusion based only on the number of views.

How to test whether a follower can see your TikTok video
Ask a trusted follower to check from their own account. You do not need to share a password.
- Have your follower open your profile and search for the video.
- Ask them to play the video if it is visible.
- Cannot they do that? Send the direct link to the video and ask what happens.
- If there is an error, ask for the exact notification. A screenshot can help, as long as it does not contain private information.
- If necessary, have a second approved follower try the same steps.
Can the first follower open the video? Then it is not inaccessible to everyone. Does it work only for the second follower? Compare whether both have access to your account and are allowed to view the video.
This test checks access. It does not tell you whether TikTok will also show the video automatically among that person’s videos.
What does ‘not eligible for For You’ mean for your TikTok video?
According to TikTok’s explanation of For You what you see there depends on your interests and what you do on TikTok. Some content is not eligible for this overview of recommended videos.
Do you see a notification on your video saying that it is not eligible for For You? This concerns recommending your video. The notification by itself does not mean that no follower can open it. Test this separately through your profile and the video link.
Conversely, the absence of your video from For You does not prove a restriction either. So first check whether TikTok displays a notification about it.
Why do TikTok followers miss a video that is accessible?
A follower may be able to open your video without having seen it while scrolling. Perhaps that person was not active or only looked briefly. So do not ask only “Can you see it?”, but also “Did you come across it automatically?”
Then view your video statistics, if you can access them. These are the figures showing how your video is viewed. When comparing, pay attention to these points:
- Compare videos that have been online for the same length of time. The figures for a video that is one hour old say something different from those for a video from last week.
- View several videos. One video with few views does not show how visible your entire account is.
- Check what each figure means. Views are views, not automatically different people. The total therefore does not tell you how many different followers watched.
- See where the views come from. Do this only if that information is shown. If it is missing, you cannot infer the source from the total.

What should you do if your TikTok video gets few or 0 views?
With 0 views, first check access, the upload and any notifications. Can your followers play the video normally? Then the video is not completely inaccessible and you can examine the viewing figures further.
Do not immediately delete the video to post it again. First save the link, any notifications and the figures you want to compare. Reposting does not guarantee that the problem will disappear.
Is the video visible to the wrong people? Adjust that setting if possible. Do you want to repost because the video file itself is incorrect? Then first save the original. Read what you can check if saving a TikTok video does not work.
Is the video accessible and is there no notification? Change one thing in your next video. A fictional example: you make a video about decorating a cake. Show the decorated cake immediately instead of first laying out all the supplies. This tests a different opening. It is not a guarantee of more views.
Extra followers do not restore an upload, privacy setting or restriction. Also buying TikTok followers does not solve those problems. A higher number of followers does not mean that more people will watch your video.
When should you ask TikTok for help with an invisible video?
In TikTok’s explanation of accounts that are not recommended it states that repeatedly posting unsuitable content can limit recommendations. TikTok mentions notifications and the possibility of appealing.
Do you disagree with a decision mentioned by TikTok in a notification? Use the option to appeal if it is shown. Briefly explain which video it concerns and why you believe the decision is incorrect.
Can approved followers not open your video and can you find no explanation? Report the problem through TikTok’s help. First collect:
- The link to the video and when you posted it.
- Who is allowed to view the video according to the privacy setting.
- The exact error notification, if one appears.
- Whether the video opens through your profile and through the direct link.
- Whether one or more followers have the same problem.
An example notification, if this happened during your test: “Two approved followers cannot open this video through my profile or the link. I can play it myself.” This describes what is going wrong without naming a cause you have not established.
